​​City and Guilds qualified since 1986, I created my consulting company gate28 in 2017 and in December 2018 after 22 years, I retired from
​tutoring Professional Cookery.
I am passionate about all things food especially fresh local and/or organic and fermentations.
I am looking forward to forging new relationships with my customers and providing healthy food which caters for all dietary requirements.

I am always looking for sustainable suppliers providing fresh, nutrient rich foods.
Buying locally not only reduces your footprint but also supports the local community.  Manakau is rural so there is some travel involved in sourcing products but I make sure I mostly stay within the regional business.  There are a couple of favoured products in Kapiti.

CATERING

I AM NOT A CATERER BUT CAN CATER

As I am sole trader and working seven days a week 6 to 6 pm I cannot do functions.  If you are well organised and book me well in advance I can do some catering.  You will need to pick up the goods and please follow the instructions on Food Safety included with the order.  The content and size of orders are dependent on my storage and equipment capabilities at the time. 

To save money please supply your own crockery and/ or containers.
  • Morning and afternoon teas - reheat or serve cold
  • Platters - charcuterie, cheese or fruit
  • Lunches /School lunches - as per dietary requirements.  Own lunchbox preferred
  • Ready-made meals - take home and reheat as per Food Safety instructions
  • ​Vegetable preparation - this is a great time saving service and prevents waste.  Drop off your vegetables to me and I will wash, peel, rewash them and cut them into the industry cuts you choose.  Take the minimal trim home to your compost.  You will need to bring your own chilly bin.
